At the climax of last week, Nile Breweries Limited (NBL) joined the rest of global brewers to mark the global beer responsible day (GBRD).
The beer giants held a sensitization fair at Kyadondo rugby grounds where officials re-echoed their commitment to safe drinking.
Campus students, journalists, officials from the brewery and some members of the public were in attendance.
Purposely, the event was targeted at company officials and the end consumers through the media.
Speaking, Thomas Kamphuis, the NBL Country Director Uganda and South Sudan noted that they are aspiring “for a healthier world where every experience with beer is a positive one.”
He further added that, “We aim to lead the industry in contributing to the reduction of the harmful use of alcohol through our global smart drinking goals and the initiatives we undertake to support them.”
Under the theme “PASS IT ON”, the event was a hub of sensitization, smart drinking, punctuated by music at the rugby grounds.
Onapito Ekomoloit the legal and corporate affairs Director at NBL added told the guests that they are “not only interested in selling alcohol to patrons” but “would also like to take part in showing them methods on how to drink responsibly”
“By living these beliefs both in our work and in our lives outside our jobs, we can have a positive impact on individuals and communities around the world,” he said.
The event climaxed with quizzes where lucky winners scooped few goodies.
