On Saturday afternoon, Itel Mobile, one of the biggest phone providers in Africa held a plush party to mark the 10-Year Milestone on the market.
The event, which was held at Protea Hotel in Kampala, attracted the company’s retail dealers, members from the ICT fraternity, as well as select members of the public.
From as early as 1PM, guests were trickling into the venue, welcomed by the red decor around the Hotel and 360-smiling Ushers.
With an insight into the 10-year journey, guests were fully taken around the Itel sphere to ensure that no stone was left unturned.
Malaika Nnyanzi, the hostess of the afternoon punctuated her time with occasional jokes, and mind-stirring trivia sessions.
Later in the afternoon, several retail dealers and guests were subjected to a raffle draw that saw tens of them walk away with fridges, water dispensers, Electric kettles, wireless speakers, among others.
In his speech, Alex Liu, the Itel Mobile Uganda Country manager assured guests how the company, in their 10-year stay, has experienced steady growth.
“Ten years ago, Itel mobile launched in Africa inspired by a mission to empower everyone with seamless mobile communication through reliable mobile devices. We have managed to achieve one decade of change and steady growth,” He said.
“Itel is now present in over 45 countries. We make 1.2 million smart phone sales volume per month and have 200K retail shops,” Alex explained.
During his time, he also spearheaded the official unveiling of the Itel S32 that has been coated with amazing features.
