City socialite Brian Kirumira aka Bryan White has on Monday been released on bail by the Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court after being held at Luzira Maximum Prisons since December 21, 2017.
The kindhearted Bryan White was arrested and charged with attempted murder by shooting his neighbour Victor Bitwire in a bizarre incident that happened on December 13, 2017 at Munyonyo-Buziga in Kampala. He was charged along with his bodyguard, Corporal Thomas Okot.
However, On Monday, Chief Magistrate Erias Kakooza granted Bryan White and co-accused Okot bail before the former was asked to deposit his passport with court. He was releaed on a cash bail of Shs10 million while his sureties were each bonded Shs20 million, not cash.
The case has been adjourned to January 31 for hearing to start.
However, whereas it is a sigh of relief to the relatives and well-wishers that Bryan White is out of Luzira, it could be a moment of agony to his fellow in-mates who may have to adopt living without the jolly, friendly and sharing socialite.
